Well it’s a lot of people’s birthdays too.

Henry VIII of England, Jean-Jacques Rousseau, Pierre Laval, Pat Morita (Mr Miyagi!), Gilda Radner, Mark Shand, Mel Brooks (88), Leon Panetta (76), His Excellency the Right Honourable David Johnston (73), Kathy Bates (66), John Elway (54), John Cusack (48), Mary Stuart Masterson (48), Gil Bellows (46), Mike White (44), Rob Dyrdek (40), Felicia Day (36), Kellie Pickler (28) & Lacey Schwimmer (26).

It’s also the day Terry Fox died.

June 28th is the only day each year where the month and date are two different perfect numbers.

In 1838 it saw the Coronation of Queen Victoria.
In 1894 Labor Day became an official holiday.  The following year the Greater Republic of Central America was formed.
In 1914 Franz Ferdinand, Archduke of Austria was assassinated which began World War I.  Five years later the Treaty of Versailles was signed on the same day.
1926 saw the founding of Mercedes-Benz*.
In 1969 the Stonewall Riots began, and with them the start of the Gay Rights Movement.
In 1997 Mike Tyson bit off a piece of Evander Holyfield’s ear.

If today is your birthday from Phil Booth

Wisdom to make the right decisions is the key to finding success. You’re only as good as your last decision. It’s been a little rocky for you of late, but you will this year find the perspicacity to make judicious and well-advised choices. You will discover your life’s purpose (and that’s no mean feat) and manage to see through a nebulous dilemma with total clarity. A huge barrier to your eternal happiness is lifting. The gods are with you.

perspicacity: having a ready insight into and understanding of things.

Let’s all have a perspicacious next 364 days!

*surely this means I get a free one?
